A detailed energy analysis and plan are the first keys to an energy production and conservation effort. Our team will use a combination of measurement tools, technical knowledge, and energy conservation programs to find the right solutions for you.
Your energy analysis will be custom to your needs. Perhaps it’s just a free walkthrough, or an in-depth detailed study over time, or something in the middle. We will work with your home or business to find the right analysis approach that will give you the best return on investment.
The end result will be a detailed written report and associated proposal detailing specific steps to achieve the intended goals – such as saving money and increasing comfort. As a licensed contractor, we are ready to implement the changes from the report. For existing homes, typical retrofits include air sealing, additional insulation, and HVAC equipment replacement from one of our partners.
- Existing - Perhaps all you need is a free walk through where we look at lighting, HVAC, thermostats, insulation levels and the like. If you need a more in-depth analysis, we can provide a Level 2 or Level 3 ASHRAE analysis. These more comprehensive audits will analyze the energy usage and look at the building’s heating and cooling equipment, lighting, pumps, motors, etc. and test the building shell with a blower door test.
- New Construction - Each county in southern Maryland has adopted the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). We will step through the code, evaluating your building on each of the code standards to certify the building meets the IECC.
- Existing - For existing homes, we’re proud to partner with SMECO on the free Home Energy Improvement Program (HEIP). Once you review the report and find the right solution for your home, we are the authorized SMECO contractor to implement changes and apply for up to $7,500 in rebate incentives.
- New Construction - Each new home built in Southern Maryland is required to meet the standards of the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). We will evaluate several code standards including duct testing and the shell tightness with a blower door test.
